A Witch, a Werewolf, a Wizard and a Necromancer walk into a bar… Doesn’t that sound like the start to an awesome joke?

But seriously a Witch, a Werewolf, a Wizard and a Necromancer are on the run. It follows Chloe, our Necromancer, who can see ghosts and raise the dead. These summoning’s happen both on accident and on purpose. Her and friends are trying to escape those who created them, or genetically enhanced their powers anyway. Not knowing what happened to their genes makes their powers 1) more powerful and 2) unpredictable as they develop.

It took me about 1/3 of the way into this book to REALLY start turning pages. But that could have been because I was so busy, not for lack of good reading material. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, but you can tell there will be a sequel as there are still questions to be answered, but it does wrap the book itself.

Speaking of sequels, from what I can tell this book is actually a trilogy and The Awakening is book II, I didn’t realize that, the author did a nice job of filling in details along the way that I didn’t even suspect. (Alright, it’s okay to wonder about me a little) I admire Kelley for being able to do that, normally if I accidently pick up the sequel to a novel, I can tell right away. Kudos to Kelley.

Read BOOK TWO The Awakening.

Kelley Armstrong has a ton of other books to.
