I promise i'm not dead

Hey Kids!

Despite the evidence that may be pointing you to believe so, I have not given up on my blog. I was writing every week and it was going swimmingly well, but I realized that the purpose of my blog is to help me as an author. Quite frankly I was spending more time on my blog every week than working on my novel. Which to me seemed counter productive. The new goal is to write once a month, at the beginning of the month… or middle of the month apparently.

As for an update, I have finished my outline with all the material I have come up with so far. I’m missing something though. The problem is I don’t know what I’m missing yet. I have come up with a few missing pieces, but not everything.  I have also envisioned this book as a trilogy, I’m still deciding if I should write a full outline for all three books or just bare bones and start writing number one. In conclusion, right now I am taking a break for the outline problems and working on my character profiles. It is taking me awhile because I’m taking a few exams for work that I have to study for, so writing time has to share with study time.

Lastly, I am in desperate need of a writing buddy. I know they are out there I’m just not sure how to get one. If you are in the same predicament message me. I’ve also decided that being a beta reader for some awesome up and coming author is on my bucket list. If you would like to help me knock an item of my bucket list, again, message me!

Because i'm nothing if not funny, here's a little writing humor that is based on real events... at least in my life

Outline is Finished!!!

I have exciting news! I have finally finished writing up my first outline! Now I just have to print and unscramble. I am thrilled to be at this point in the writing process because I know it will help me find plot holes, come up with more ideas and develop my characters. Can a get a Whoop? Don’t fret photo’s to come! 

Yes, You Can

This past week has been a good week. There are days when the voice in your head tells you that you can’t do something or that you’re not good enough.

I hate that voice!

His name is Gunther.

But this week was good because I didn’t listen to the voice that says, “I can’t”. I listened to the voice that says,

“I can and I will. Just watch me.”

And you know what? 

Good things happen when I listen to this voice. 

So here’s to another Monday and another week of “I can and I will.” 

I hope you do the same. 

What Time is it? It's OUTLINE Time!

This is a big week!

Let me start by giving some background information. I have always wanted to write a book, but it seemed like an unattainable dream to me. Then, I stumbled across a method for novel writing that breaks down the process.

And I thought to myself:

I can do this! One step at a time!

For the past 2-3 months I have been brainstorming. I’ve had many ideas and started a few attempts to write, but nothing stuck. I feel different this time.

I’m a woman with a plan!

Watch out!

            Now I’m moving to the outlining phase.

(Happy dance!)

I’m going to take all my ideas, lay them out and put them in a logical order. This is going to help me see plot holes and come up with more idea’s as I go. Once my outline is done I can move to the actual writing part!

Anyone else getting chills?

Well kids, I’m off to celebrate, I hope your Monday is marvelous
