The Dark Divine was a little slow moving for my taste, though it did keep me interested enough to keep turning the page. I like to know things and there was enough mystery in it to make me read for answers. I would give it 3 out of five stars. Another thing to note in this book is that religion plays a large part in the plot of this book. That is not something that normally bothers me, but if it bothers you, you may not enjoy this one as much.

I also felt like there could have been more intensity in the plot, with higher stakes that were more gripping. But everything was still tied together really well and I appreciated that.

The book follows Grace Divine, daughter of a pastor, growing up with a family that pretends everything is perfect even when its not. Thinks get crazy when rumors that the “The Markham Street Monster” is said to be back in town the same time her long lost friend and old time crush come back in town. Coincidence? Read to find out.

Read the book for yourself: The Dark Divine
